In what is seen as a logical extension of the total facilities management service, OCS (New Zealand) and OfficeMax (New Zealand) have formed a strategic alliance that’s designed to benefit both businesses and their respective client bases.

Under the partnership agreement OfficeMax will now offer cleaning, hygiene services and facilities management services while OCS will be able to provide a wider consumables offering, including office products.

OCS delivers a wide range of facilities management services, including commercial cleaning, pest control, washroom hygiene and waste management.

OfficeMax provides both business-to-business office product solutions and retail services, with everything from office supplies and paper, to technology, packaging, washroom products, cafeteria supplies and furniture.

The two companies also operate as mutual suppliers with OCS providing facilities management services to OfficeMax sites and retail outlets around New Zealand. OfficeMax will provide office supplies to 23 OCS branches across the country. OfficeMax also distributes paper-based consumables to OCS clients.

‘The close-working relationship between the two is already paying dividends with the two companies successfully bidding for a cleaning contract with the University of Waikato,’ noted the official 23 October announcement.

OCS acting managing director Gareth Marriott, said that the formal partnership will benefit both businesses and their clients.

“This arrangement is an extension of the total facilities management service, where a single provider manages all the various support services required,” Mr Marriott noted.

“This allows a business to focus on what they do best – their core service or product – and provides increased efficiencies for them by streamlining services and removing duplication of administration, such as invoicing.

“Increasingly, feedback indicates that clients and larger companies in particular, want a single point of contact and a single invoice for multiple services. This new partnership means that we can deliver even more products and services through this single point of contact.”

OfficeMax---Cleaning-ProducMr Marriott added that a key aspect of the OCS business strategy is a focus on forging long-standing partnerships with both clients and suppliers so that products, services and innovations can be tailored to meet their specific needs.

The new partnership with OfficeMax is an extension of this business philosophy.

OfficeMax New Zealand managing director, Kevin Obern, believes the partnership with OCS is hugely  beneficial to its clients and that the two companies fit together well.

“OfficeMax is proud to partner with OCS to provide our clients with first-class facilities management services,” Mr Obern stated.

“Our clients are reaping the rewards of this streamlining of services, making their jobs easier and in turn, our jobs more fulfilling.”
