The move to relocate Building Service Contractors New Zealand (BSCNZ) head quarters from Wellington to Auckland has, in the words of BSCNZ CEO Lillian Small, “been taken in the interests of providing the best possible service and the best value” to its members.
“Increasingly, my role has involved spending significant amounts of time in Auckland – where the majority of major organisations’ head offices are based,” Small continued. “BSCNZ national council meetings are also held in Auckland.
“Building the BSCNZ brand is one of our key focuses,” she stated. “The move means I can commit more time to meeting with key customers and other national and international organisations to increase awareness of what differentiates a BSCNZ member from a non-member cleaning contractor.
“My aim is to ensure that when the cleaning contracts for these companies come up for tender, BSCNZ members are front-of-mind for decision makers.”
Auckland also provides the opportunity for more economical regional flights throughout the country so Small has plans to be visiting members more frequently, and looking into other New Zealand regions as the Association membership grows.
“In representing companies of all sizes that are committed to excellence in our sector, our focus will be on raising the profile of members and of the cleaning industry in New Zealand as a whole. We are also committed to being the voice of the industry where opinion and comment is required,” Small explained.
